Caring Classrooms Supporters

Support Caring Classrooms and Extend Your Facebook Reach!

Caring Classrooms is a “giving community” on DonorsChoose that supports teachers who are trying to get classroom projects funded.

Francie Kugelman and Laura Candler are the administrators of the Caring Classrooms giving page and the corresponding Facebook community, and we need your help to make sure teachers get the resources they need. We just celebrated our 3rd anniversary in August, and with the help of our sponsors, we’ve helped raise over $210,000 in that time!

To thank you for your generosity, I’ll share one of your blog posts with my Facebook fans. I’m always looking for great content to share, so this will be a win-win! I currently have over 660,000 fans and some of the posts I share go out to hundreds of thousands of viewers! Because I only post a few times a day and because the potential reach of anything posted on my page is quite large, I’m limiting this offer to those who donate $100 or more to Caring Classrooms. If you regularly pay for Facebook ads, try making a tax-deductible donation to Caring Classrooms this month instead! If you want to become a Caring Classrooms Supporter, read the information below and follow the steps. Thanks so much! ~ Laura Candler

How to Become a Caring Classrooms Supporter Overview

After you sign up, I’ll add you to a secret Pinterest board where you can pin posts you’d like me to share on Facebook. After I select one of your posts, you’ll make a $100 DonorsChoose donation to the Caring Classrooms Community. Then I’ll share your post on my Facebook page and I’ll pin it to one or more of my Pinterest boards. That’s it!

Step by Step Details

  1. Sign up on this Google Doc Form, and I’ll add you to a secret Pinterest board called Caring Classrooms Supporters. (If I don’t add you within 24 hours, email me at [email protected].)
  2. Pin one of two of your best content-rich posts or best freebies to that board. A small product mention or a link to a product is fine as long as the post is filled with tips, strategies, and other information that does not require a purchase. Make sure that each post has a Facebook-worthy image. I’ll use the best image in the post and not the one you pin to the board.
  3. In the description on each pin, write the wording you want me to write on Facebook.
  4. I will select one of your posts or freebies to share with my Facebook followers based on what I think will do the best. To let you know that I selected it, I’ll comment on that pin. You’ll have to check the board a few days later to find which one I selected if you don’t have Pinterest notifications enabled.
  5. When you see the one I selected, write a comment on the pin with the date and time you would like it to go out. I will delete any other pins that I don’t plan to share.
  6. Finally, go to the DonorsChoose gift card page, purchase the DC gift card for $100 (or more!) and email it to us at [email protected]. Every penny of you donation will be added to the Caring Classrooms Community account to be used to sponsor contests and other events, and when we use it, YOUR NAME will appear as the donor!
  7. After I see your donation arrive by email, I’ll schedule your post on Facebook. I’ll also pin your post to several of my Pinterest boards to help extend its reach.
  8. When it goes out to my followers, I’ll let you know how it’s doing on Facebook and Pinterest.

Please note that you will only make your donation AFTER I select a post for my page. If I don’t select any of them and you see that they’ve been deleted, try adding a few more to the board. I will only share posts that I think are a good fit for my page, so I’m only making this offer to bloggers I know have great content. However, it might take a few tries before I find one I think will do well.

Sample Facebook Posts

To help you get an idea of the potential reach for your post, I wanted to share a few of my recents Facebook posts to other blogs. These bloggers did not make donations because I just started this system, but I thought it would be helpful for you to see what can happen to a great post on my page. Unfortunately, Facebook posts to my own blog don’t usually do this well! Click on the orange blog title to see each post on Facebook.
