Thanks for taking the mathematical mindsets journey with me and for helping me develop the math problem solving webinar. This is the page where I will upload audio and video messages as well as word problems to test with your students. Please do not share this page with anyone else. Thanks!
Math Mindset Challenges Field Testing Directions
 (March 11h)
I’d like each member of the group to test at least one of the 20 problems. Here’s what to do:
- Download the editable Math Mindset Challenge Problems document and read all 25 the problems. You’ll notice that some of them are much more challenging than others. (Note: This document was updated and the problems were reordered on March 11th.)
- Choose a problem that you would like to use with your class, and solve it to make sure the level is right for your students. Click HERE to check the answer key and let me know if you have any questions about how I got my answer. (After you test that problem and provide feedback, you can sign up for another one, but I would prefer that you just sign up for one at a time.)
- Click over to the MMC Field Testing Google Doc form to see if anyone else will be testing it. If not, type your name next to the probem, and enter the date you plan to use the problem. (Note: The order of the problems was changed on March 11th, so just go by the titles.)
- Download the MMC Templates and decide how you want to present the problem to your class. You can use the full-page format to show the problem to the whole class at once, or you can copy and paste the problem over to the template with the 5 slips of paper for students to cut apart and use in math journals. The final format is the student printables page with the lines for explaining the answer. Feel free to modify that page as needed, but I’d like to see a copy of your modified page.
- Test the problem with your class. When you are finished, return to the Google Doc and enter any comments about the problem.

Information for GoToWebinar Co-organizers
Admins are referred to as “organizers” or “co-organizers” in the webinar documentation. If you offer to become a co-organizer during of my webinars, I’ll send you a different email for logging on. You’ll have access to certain features behind the scenes, and you will mostly be responsible for answering participants’ questions during the webinar.
If you are an organizer during a webinar (or even during a practice), you’ll need a USB headset with a microphone. If you don’t have one, here are some headsets on Amazon that are under $25.
Here are some tutorials and articles that might be helpful.
- Video Tutorial about Hosting a Webinar (This is Part 2 of the organizer training, but you don’t need Part 1 because it’s about how to set up a webinar. You also don’t need to know the first 30 seconds of Part 2, because I will do those tasks, but the rest of the video is really helpful.)
- Article about the features of the Control Panel
