Guest Blogging Guidelines for Corkboard Connections

Thank you for your interest in becoming a guest blogger for my blog, Corkboard Connections! My followers are mostly upper elementary teachers, but I accept posts from other educators if the content is appropriate for my audience, too.

Please note that I only accept guest blog posts from practicing or retired teachers or other educators. All content shared on my blog must be non-promotional. If you think your blogging style is a good fit for my blog, spend some time reading the posts on my blog to be sure your topic idea hasn’t already been covered. Then read the guidelines below and complete the application form. I’ll review your blog and blog post suggestion, and contact you if I’m interested in featuring you as a guest blogger. Thanks! ~ Laura

Blog Posts should include …..

  • strategies, teaching tips, advice, or whatever would appeal to elementary teachers in grades 2 through 6
  • at least two relevant photos or images (high quality images are best)
  • a freebie (optional)
  • a short bio (1 or 2 sentences) that will be posted at the end with a link back to your own blog
  • a “pinnable” blog title image in a vertical format

NoteAll content must be original and exclusive. This means it must not have been published online or in print prior to your date, and it can’t be used in the same format again. Also, be sure you own the rights to any images you use in your post, and please don’t use the exact same images you create for the guest post on your own blog.

Other Info…

  • I don’t have a required post length, but I do tend to like longer posts that posts that are “meaty” and content rich (800 to 1,500 words).
  • Please don’t include references or links to products. (You may include product information at the end of your freebie if you create a freebie for your post.)
  • If you include an image of your students working on something that looks like a product, please make sure it’s a downloadable freebie and that you link to it.
  • While photos are terrific, limit the post to no more than five great photos that illustrate your points. When you have too many photos, it slows down the page loading time.
  • Please don’t submit photos with colored ovals or stickers on students’ faces. If you can’t show student’s faces, take pictures of student work or photos that just show the backs of heads or student hands while working. Here’s a great post from Brenda at Primary Inspired that shows how to photograph students without showing faces.
